Studenthood is a period of unusual freedom
University gives you something you won't always have later: endless possibilities to explore. So use it.
There is something wonderfully liberating about being a student.
You can be studying engineering and spend your summer interning in finance in France. You can study medicine and volunteer with a health-tech start-up. You can spend Tuesday evening at a consulting society, Wednesday helping a researcher with a project and Thursday learning Python because you suddenly realised that coding seems to be… an intere—essential.
And, perhaps most importantly, nobody thinks this is strange.
You are a student. You are supposed to be figuring things out.
That is your free pass.
University gives you a few years in which you can explore different industries, meet an extraordinary range of people, try things you have absolutely no intention of doing permanently and discover interests you didn't know you had.
So don't spend the entirety of it doing one thing: your degree.

NOTES FROM THE NORTH
“There is a certain peace that comes with knowing less — and choosing better.”
